Starstruck's
FI* Starstruck's is a small Finnish cattery for Scandinavian Russian Blue cats in Vantaa (Helsinki area). The cattery has a new litter once a year or so from well-thought combinations. The cattery has 5 feline inhabitants, 4 of which are retired: ASOLAN Blu Christmas, Starstruck's Greta Ekman, Kuunkajon Candelifera and Jumillas Born To Run. Currently we have one fertile female: ASOLAN Roksana Amuletovna. From time to time, we also have leasing cats to continue the Starstruck's lines. If you wonder about the ASOLAN breeder name, it was my spouse's breeder name in TICA. We currently only breed in FIFe.
As a breeder, my objective is to bring to the world curious and affectionate Russian Blues which adhere to the breed standards. In the appearance, I emphasize the Scandinavian rysslook, which to me consists of a specific - little angry - face expression, medium blue coat with great tipping, elegant but muscular body and green almond-shaped eyes. During the time I've been breeding Russian Blues, I haven't met a cat that would fulfill the objective completely so there's still work to be done. When planning a litter, the looks and the character of the male, his pedigree and his low use in breeding are of greatest importance.
Cat shows are a natural part of the breeding activity. A cat show is not only a great place to meet other 'cat people' but also a valuable source of information for all cat owners and breeders. And, of course, a certificate once in a while does not hurt either! Although my ambition is to find some promising kittens a home that shares my interest in the breeding and/or the cat shows, the most important thing is always to find a loving home that can offer the kitten a secure and stimulating living environment for the rest of its life.
